Charge+ is first to install BYD flash chargers in Indonesia

Charge+ has become the first EV charging operator in Indonesia to install and launch BYD's groundbreaking flash charging technology, in collaboration with Bipo and BYD Haka Auto, authorised distributors of BYD vehicles in Indonesia.

The launch marks a significant milestone in Indonesia's electric mobility journey, introducing a new level of charging speed and convenience for EV drivers. Charge+ has installed five BYD flash chargers, each capable of delivering up to 1.5 megawatts (MW) of charging power. With this technology, compatible BYD electric vehicles can charge from 10% to 90% in as little as nine minutes, bringing the EV charging experience closer than ever to the convenience of refuelling a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle.

Indonesia is among the first countries in Southeast Asia selected by BYD for the introduction of its flash charging technology, reinforcing the country's growing importance in the region's transition towards electric mobility. As a leading EV charging operator in Indonesia, Charge+ is proud to play a key role in bringing this innovative technology to local EV drivers.

The official launch event, held in Jakarta on 14 October 2026, was attended by Charge+ Indonesia Managing Director, Mr Anthony Utomo, alongside BYD's senior management representatives, including Mr Liu Xue Liang, General Manager of BYD Asia Pacific, and Mr Richard Li, Flash Charging Director of BYD Asia Pacific. The event also showcased BYD's D9 and Z9 GT models, highlighting the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology.

Building on this milestone, Charge+ looks forward to expanding its ultra-fast charging infrastructure across Indonesia and subsequently into other Southeast Asian markets. This initiative reflects Charge+'s continued commitment to accelerating EV adoption by delivering faster, more accessible and reliable charging solutions throughout the region.
