PRESS RELEASE

CHARGE+ PARTNERS PRIMECH A&P FOR ITS 70-ELECTRIC VEHICLE FLEET

Singapore, 11 June 2021 - Primech A&P and Charge+ have entered into a partnership in the electric vehicle (EV) space, through Primech A&P’s commitment to a sizeable corporate EV fleet which will be supported by Charge’s holistic EV charging solutions.

Primech A&P is a leading facility services company serving Southeast Asia. In line with its corporate Green Plan to drive its sustainability objectives, Primech A&P has committed to having a fleet of 70 EVs by 2025, making it one of the largest corporate operators of EVs in Singapore outside the public transport sector. In 2021 alone, Primech A&P aims to operate at least 10 EVs to serve its clients nationwide. Among the EV providers, Primech A&P will be working with local EV technology firm Oyika which will provide electric commercial vans on a monthly subscription basis that comprises EV charging.

Charge+, a leading EV charging solution provider in Singapore and the region, had earlier announced in 2020 the plans to implement 10,000 EV charging points across housing estates, condominiums, commercial and industrial properties in Singapore by 2030. To serve the EVs of Primech A&P, Charge+ will be implementing EV charging stations on the premises of Primech A&P. Primech A&P EV drivers will also enjoy the convenience of tapping on the nationwide public charging network of Charge+.

Mr Vernon Kwek, CEO, Primech A&P, said, “Tackling climate change is everybody’s responsibility, no matter which sector you are in. As a company, we must not only focus on our core business, but also look into our social responsibility. By working on the EV project, it is a huge step towards environmental sustainability. We are glad to collaborate with Charge+ and Oyika to implement this. I hope this collaboration will bring forth positive outcomes and serve as an inspiration to others to go green.”

Mr Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge+, said, “Charge+ is pleased to partner Primech A&P in its ambitious fleet electrification drive. Through our holistic charging solutions, Primech A&P EV drivers can enjoy the convenience of charging their EVs on their premises or through our nationwide network. We believe that this Primech A&P-Charge+ partnership model will be easily scalable to many other fleet operators in Singapore, many of which are now seriously seeking to lower the environmental footprint from their corporate vehicles.”
